Selma Cohen
Selma R. Cohen (Rabinowitz), 95, of Clark died Aug. 20, 2012. Born and raised in Newark, she lived in Bayonne and then Newark for many years before moving to Union and then Clark.
Mrs. Cohen taught in the Newark school system for nearly 50 years.
She was a graduate of South Side High School in Newark and Newark State Teachers’ College,
Predeceased by her husband, Albert, she is survived by two sons, Jules of Mesa, Ariz., and Michael of Wall; her daughter, Judy Ohl of Westfield; a sister, Debra Parducci of Pacific Palisades, Calif., a brother, Morton Rabinowitz of North Brunswick; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 23 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Family Service, the provider of Kosher Meals on Wheels, Elizabeth.
