Selma Wasserman

Selma Zelda Wasserman, 87, of Cranford died Feb. 22, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Lausanne, Switzerland, during the early years of her marriage and then in Westfield for almost 50 years before moving to Cranford a few years ago.

Mrs. Wasserman was a graduate of New York University. 

She was an active member of Temple Emanu-El of Westfield and a docent at the Jewish Museum. 

Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Harold, and a daughter, Donna Beth, she is survived by two daughters, Lauren Wasserman of Brookline, Mass., and Claudia Wasserman (Ernie Olin) of Minneapolis; her son, Jonathan (Susan) of Livingston; a sister, Arlene Schneider of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 25 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lifelong Learning Fund at Temple Emanu-El or Alzheimer’s Association.
