Seymour Eisler
Seymour Steven “Steve” Eisler, 89, of Monroe Township died Feb. 25, 2015. Born in Newark, he lived in Union for 45 years before moving to Monroe in 2000.
Prior to retiring in 2000, Dr. Eisler was an optometric physician with a private practice in Union for many years, and later as part of Eye Physicians and Surgeons of New Jersey, Union.
He received his BS from Villanova University and his doctor of optometry from Penn State College of Optometry.
He was a World War II Navy veteran who was appointed to the Naval Officers Training Program.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Tabb Eisler; his son, Eric (Aimee) of Bethesda, Md.; his daughter, Stacey Eisler (Richard Danziger) of Edgewater; two brothers, Gilbert and Philip Eisler; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services were held Feb. 27 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan.
