Seymour Kaplan
Seymour D. Kaplan, 96, of Ewing died Nov. 4, 2012. Born in Passaic, he was a Trenton-area resident all his life.
Mr. Kaplan was an attorney at law for 73 years. He was a partner with his father and later his son in the law firm Joseph D. Kaplan and Son, PC, Trenton, which opened in 1917 and is still active at Hanover and Montgomery streets. He remained a constant presence at the office until his death.
Educated in the Trenton school system, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in three years. He received a U.S. Supreme Court Judge Felix Frankfurter Full Scholarship Award and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1939.
He was the oldest member of the Mercer County Bar Association.
He was a member of Adath Israel Congregation in Lawrenceville, AIPAC, the Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks, and Greenacres Country Club, Lawrenceville.
Predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Albert Kaplan, he is survived by three sons, Robert, Richard, and Lionel; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 9 at Adath Israel Congregation, with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to The Jewish Center, Princeton; or Adath Israel Congregation.
