Sheila H. Sterbach

Sheila H. Sternbach, 81, of Brick died May 6, 2011. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Long Branch, Linden, and Colonia before moving to Brick 27 years ago.

Mrs. Sternbach worked for the Jewish Federation of Union County, retiring in 1973; she later worked as a secretary for the Department of Defense at Fort Monmouth until her retirement in the early 1990s.

She was a member of Temple Beth Or in Brick and its sisterhood and had also been a member of Temple Beth Am, also known as Ohev Shalom, in Colonia. She was also a member of B’nai B’rith and former member of Hadassah.

Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Martin, she is survived by her daughter, Mona.

Services were held May 9 at Temple Beth Or with arrangements by Belkoff Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth Or or the American Heart Association.
