Sheldon Wolt
Sheldon Wolt, 88, of Coconut Creek, Fla., formerly of Millburn, died May 5, 2014. Born and raised in Newark, he was the youngest of 12 children.
Mr. Wolt was the longtime manager of Ben Klein, Inc. of Newark and Middlesex.
He was a graduate of Newark’s South Side High School.
At 17, he entered the U.S. Navy and served as a signalman on the USS Boreas during World War II.
He was a former member of Congregation B’nai Israel in Millburn and a former officer of the Millburn chapter of B’nai B’rith.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce (Jacobs); three sons, Martin of Estero, Fla., Barry (Helen) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Jay (Carole) of East Berlin, Pa.; his daughter, Beth (Sal) Russo of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two sisters, Lenore Gonzer of Coconut Creek and Selma Fein of Kenilworth; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held May 7 followed by a military burial; arrangements were handled by Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, North Lauderdale, Fla.
