Shoes not made for walking
Kolbo of Jan. 26 included “A Walk of Art: Visionary Shoes” exhibit produced by students of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. On opening night, Jan. 23, Parasol Projects Gallery in New York hosted a crowd of Israeli students, graduates, and friends.
I am a proud grandmother of Israeli artist Noa Rubin, who has several sculptural shoes in the exhibit. Noa is a senior at Bezalel Academy and has a passion for shoes, their spiritual meaning, their importance in our lives, and the countless ways in which they can be designed and fashioned using a variety of media and crafted all by hand.
