Stanley Becker
Stanley B. Becker, 82, of Monroe Township died Dec. 29, 2011.
Dr. Becker was a dentist who practiced in Delaware County, Pa., for 35 years. He taught prosthetics at the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University, collectively, for 20 years.
He graduated from Temple University’s School of Liberal Arts and its School of Dentistry, Philadelphia.
After graduation, he served at the 3201st United States Air Force Hospital, Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, and remained in the reserves.
A member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Chester/Delaware County Dental Society, he was also a fellow in England’s Royal Society of Health and in the Academy of General Dentistry. In 1981 he was honored by the Chapel of the Four Chaplains for community service, and in 1990, the state of Pennsylvania and the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped recognized him for his volunteer work.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter; two sons; a sister; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 2 with arrangements by Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan.
