Rabbi Elie Kaunfer leads “Praying Anew,” a two-session program for the Kol Rina Independent minyan of South Orange, on Sundays, February 27 and March 6, at 10:30 a.m. for the shul’s “Brunch and Learn” online program. It is free and open to the public.
The February 27 session looks at “Praying Anew: Unlocking Meaning in the Words of the Siddur,” and on March 6, Rabbi Kaunfer talks about “Praying Anew: Beyond the Meaning of the Words.”
Rabbi Elie Kaunfer, the Hadar Institute’s president and CEO, previously worked as a journalist, banker, and corporate fraud investigator. A graduate of Harvard College, he completed his doctorate in liturgy at the Jewish Theological Seminary, where he also was ordained. A Wexner Graduate Fellow and Dorot Fellow, he is a co-founder of the independent minyan Kehilat Hadar and has been on Newsweek’s list of the top 50 rabbis in America many times. He was selected as an inaugural Avi Chai Fellow and is the author of “Empowered Judaism: What Independent Minyanim Can Teach Us About Building Vibrant Jewish Communities.” He is on the board of Natan and on the advisory board of Upstart.
