In late November, the Torah Academy of Bergen County marked the shloshim of Cary Reichardt at the school with a siyyum. The Reichardt family joined TABC’s student body, alumni, and current and former faculty, to honor her memory, in person and on livestream, with the Torah study program.

Ms. Reichardt was a teacher at TABC and the longtime chair of its history department. She designed and taught the school’s “Bare Witness” program, a theater production that is the culmination of TABC’s Holocaust studies course.

The speakers included Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Joshua Kahn, who spoke about Ms. Reichardt’s devotion to her students, to TABC, and to her family.

Rebecca Lopkin and Dassi Silverman introduced “Do, Give, Remember,” a three-pronged initiative launched in Ms. Reichardt’s memory. Members of the TABC family were invited to sign up to do a mitzvah for a specific amount of time (“do”), submit a memory or anecdote to be compiled in a book for her family (“remember”), and in the spring, take part in a dedication that will culminate a TABC campaign to dedicate something within the school in her memory (“give”).

The program culminated with Ms. Reichardt’s son, Corey, and TABC senior Yaakov Beyda talking about the mishnayot that the school community learned for Ms. Reichardt’s shloshim. A seudat mitzvah sponsored by the Reichardt family followed.
