Tanya Tabak (Hodes), 83, of Verona and Boca Raton, Fla., died Feb. 10, 2020. She grew up in Brooklyn and lived in Bellmore, N.Y., before moving to Livingston in 1969.
Mrs. Tabak was an educator teaching high school social studies, co-owner of two child care centers, and was employed by Catholic Charities as a child care director for many years.
She devoted many years of volunteer service to the Foundation for Diabetes Research and National Council for Jewish Women.
Predeceased by her husband of 63 years, S. Charles, in 2017, she is survived by two daughters, Elissa (Frank) Lombardo and Karen (Steven) Honig; a brother, Eugene Hodes; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held Feb. 13 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
