Dylan Black presents the project he researched, “Jewish Representation in the Classroom,” as his Monmouth Regional High School assignment, “Be the Change,” for the Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County in Freehold. The presentation will be live and on Zoom on Sunday, August 8, at 2 p.m.
Dylan’s teacher Joe Nappi asked the class to identify a problem about which each was passionate and to “be the change.” Dylan researched Jewish representation in the classroom. He hopes to guide teachers in understanding that Jewish history is more than just the Holocaust. He collaborated with Rabbi Douglas Sagal of Congregation B’nai Israel in Rumson; Sara Brown, the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education’s executive director; and Jessica Solomon, the Jewish Heritage Museum’s executive director.
