Author Stuart Z. Goldstein, a long-time member of Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor, discusses his book, “Moe Fields — The Special Bond Between Fathers and Sons,” online on Tuesday, June 15, at 7 p.m.
Mr. Goldstein tells the story of Moe Fields, aka Murray Goldman, who grew up in the Depression. He talks about Mr. Fields’ teen years as a Golden Glove boxer, working as a bootleg fighter in Brooklyn to earn money, being in the navy during World War II, meeting Franklin D. Roosevelt, and overcoming prejudice to build one of the largest plumbing businesses in northern New Jersey. The book is about a father’s fighting spirit and determination to save his family and inspire his sons to succeed.
