The last Jewish gangster
Myron Sugerman, a Newark native and author of “The Chronicles of The Last Jewish Gangster: From Meyer to Myron,” speaks on February 8, at 7:30 p.m., on Zoom. The program is for the Ner Tamid Society of the Jewish Community Foundation, along with the Jewish Historical Society and Newark Initiatives of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ.
Mr. Sugerman is an expert on the history of the Jewish mob in Newark, fighting antisemitism, and the American Nazi Party. In this exclusive virtual interview, he will discuss his firsthand experiences and family connections with some of the most infamous Jewish mobsters, and the story of how many of them stood up against the American Nazi Party in the 1930s.
