Dr. Sylvia Flescher will tell the story of the discovery of her father’s cousin’s diary and read some excerpts from it in an online talk on Monday, October 18, at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Flescher also will talk about the roots trip to Poland that she and her husband took, and how she found the diary of a relative, Elsa, who died in the Holocaust.
Dr. Sylvia Flescher, a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst on the faculty of the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, is a past president of the NJ Psychoanalytic Society. Her memoir, “Googling for Ghosts: A Meditation on Writers’ Block, Mourning and the Holocaust,” appeared in the Psychoanalytic Review.
