Tirza Freeman
Tirza Freeman, 86, of Albany, NY, died Jan. 4, 2013. A Holocaust survivor who immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1939, she had lived in Millburn and Springfield until recently.
Mrs. Freeman had a successful career as a controller at Slavitt Associates after completing her bachelor’s degree in accounting at the age of 50.
She attended minyan on a daily basis and frequently led services at Congregation B’nai Israel in Millburn.
Predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Henry, she is survived by two daughters, Eva Freeman of Albany and Naomi Freeman of Bethesda, Md.; a brother, Joseph Rosenberg of Maplewood; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 12 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
