Women’s League honors CBI congregant

The sisterhood of Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains honored Laura Queller of Westfield at the June 9 Women of Achievement Gala at Congregation B’nai Tikvah in North Brunswick. It was sponsored by the Garden State region of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, the umbrella organization for the Conservative movement’s sisterhood chapters.
The Women of Achievement Gala honored one woman from each of the 28 sisterhoods in Women’s League’s New Jersey region. Honorees were chosen for their outstanding service to their sisterhood, synagogue, or community.
The region’s president, Sheila Kaufman, presented the award to Ms. Queller, who has been an active member of CBI for more than 35 years. Her commitment to CBI’s sisterhood began soon after she and her family joined the synagogue, and she has held various leadership roles in the organization, including president. She’s also the shul’s communications chair and has been on the CBI board.
“We were thrilled to honor Laura and celebrate her significant contributions to our community on this special night,” Ariel Rubin, CBI’s sisterhood president, said.
