Wrong target
Rabbi Faith Joy Dantowitz should stick to her ministry (“‘Smart’ technology makes firearms safer,” June 4). She writes that “the firearms lobby insists smart gun technology is not reliable.” Actual experience has proven it conclusively, with multiple failures reported within the first 100 rounds.
If the rabbi is concerned about injuries to children — as opposed to mandating an unreliable technology — she should concentrate on swimming pools, bathtubs, stairs, and household chemicals, all of which kill and injure children at exponentially greater rates.
