Zelda Cohen

Zelda Duchin Cohen, 85, of Pompton Plains, a lifelong New Jerseyan who was born in Newark and later also lived in Cliffside Park and Cresskill, died Jan. 1, 2014.

A supporter of Jewish causes and an advocate for the State of Israel, Cohen was a former legal secretary, travel agent, and consultant in her husband’s dental office. She was a graduate of Weequahic High School, Newark. She was an avid reader of books and of The New York Times and was a strong supporter of liberal causes.

Predeceased by her husband, Dr. Morris L. Cohen, she is survived by daughters Robin Cohen Goldman and her husband, Mark, of West Caldwell and Jaye Cohen Sauer and her husband, Barry, of Franklin Lakes; and four grandchildren, MatthewGoldman, Adam Goldman and his wife Andrea, and Marissa and Joshua Sauer.

Services were held Jan. 2, with arrangements by Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel, Paramus.
