Beatrice Citron
Beatrice F. Citron, 88, of West Orange died April 6, 2015. Born in Buffalo, NY, she lived in Miami, Hollywood, and Tamarac, Fla., until 1985 when she relocated to Scottsdale, Ariz., where she lived until 2003, moving to Verona and then West Orange seven years ago.
Mrs. Citron had been a first-grade teacher for 20 years in Dade County, Florida, and had been known for teaching Hanukka songs to children in Opa Locka each year for their winter concert.
She graduated from State Teachers College in Buffalo (now part of SUNY Buffalo).
She was involved with volunteer work making recordings for the blind.
Predeceased by her husband, Ernest, she is survived by her son, Barry (Cheryl) of Montclair, and two grandsons.
Services were held April 9 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
