Pinchas Zukerman is subject of PBS documentary
Celebrated Israeli-American violinist, violist, and conductor Pinchas Zukerman is the focus of “Pinchas Zukerman: Here to Make Music.” The documentary premieres October 16, at 10 p.m. on PBS and will stream on PBS.org and the PBS app.
Part of the “Great Musicians of our Time” series, the film offers a look at the formative years of an artist whose international career spanned more than five decades. The documentary showcases the work of filmmaker Christopher Nupen, who was a pioneer of a new genre of classical music film in the 1960s.
The six-part series celebrating Nupen’s work also features artists including violinist Itzhak Perlman, guitarist Andrés Segovia, and pianists Vladimir Ashkenazy, Evgeny Kissin, and Daniil Trifonov. The episode will stream simultaneously with broadcasts on PBS.org and the PBS app.
