Benjamin Brown
Benjamin Brown, 95, of Manalapan died Feb. 9, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, he resided in Queens before moving to Manalapan 33 years ago.
Prior to retiring in 1983, Mr. Brown was co-owner of Phoenix Lighting Fixture Company in Brooklyn.
He received his bachelor of science in accounting from City College of New York.
He was a U.S. army veteran of World War II, serving as sergeant from 1942 to 1945.
Predeceased by his wife, Muriel, in 1983, he is survived by his daughter, Gladys (Howard) Sommers of East Brunswick; his son, Barry (Arlene) of Somers, NY; and four grandsons.
Services were Feb. 12 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
