Betty Barnett
Betty C. Barnett (Cobbs) of Westfield died April 13, 2019. She was born in 1927 in Brooklyn.
Mrs. Barnett worked as an early childhood educator at Flatbush Co-operative, and was then one of the founders of the nursery school at Temple Emanu-El in Westfield. She also worked in the family owned business until she retired.
She graduated from Mills College, Oakland, Calif.
She was an avid bowling champion, a tennis player, softball coach for her daughters, a transcriber of books into Braille, and a pioneer of juried craft shows in New Jersey.
Predeceased by her husband of over 69 years, Seymour Barnett, and a daughter-in-law, Siljoy Barnett, she is survived by her son, Peter (Susan); two daughters, Nancy and Ruth (David); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
