Bonnie Farin

Bonnie Joy Farin, 70, of Holmdel and Long Beach Township died Dec. 22, 2018. She was born in the Bronx,where she resided until her marriage to Zadick Coffino, when his Navy service brought them to Charleston, S.C. They were later divorced after their return to New Jersey, and she moved to Holmdel following her marriage to Harold Farin.

Mrs. Farin worked at editing and proofreading initially. In New Jersey, after a series of jobs, she became property manager for Kings Row, Middletown. She retired shortly after her second marriage in 1993.

She became involved with the Jewish Community Center of Long Beach Island and was its sisterhood president for several years. She joined Women’s League of Conservative Judaism and the sisterhood of Temple Beth Ahm (TBA) of Aberdeen, helping with programming and kitchen operations and working closely with Rabbi Lisa Malik in her Lunch and Learn presentations. In the last few years she shared the sisterhood presidency with Sandy Finkelstein, and continued to write two articles a month for the group.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; her daughter, Ilaine (Erin) Brown; her son, Mark Coffino (partner Nick Brown); 11 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Services were held Dec. 23 at Temple Beth Ahm.
