Dancing with the Stars
For the first time, “Dancing With the Stars” danced for Chanukah. Jewish dancer Alan Bersten choreographed the dance, which was on the show last week. Mr. Bersten, one of the show’s professional dancers, was the winner of the show’s 2019 season. The piece was set to American Jewish reggae/rapper Matisyahu’s song “Miracle.”
“Growing up Jewish, you don’t really see a lot of Chanukah representation, so tonight we’re doing a special performance to celebrate,” Bersten, 31, the son of Russian-Jewish immigrants, said on the show, which aired on Tuesday night. “Hopefully, Jewish kids are watching this, and they feel seen and they feel proud.”
On Instagram, the Center for Jewish History congratulated Bersten for making “Dancing With the Stars” history.
