Daniel Jonas, 77, of Charleston, S.C., died Feb. 3, 2020. Born in Newark, he resided in West Orange for over 30 years before moving to Charleston in 2013.
Mr. Jonas’ career spanned over 40 years of experience in the environmental consulting, pharmaceutical, and engineering industries, and he served as corporate director of environmental health, and safety for a NYSE-listed manufacturer, where he was responsible for all environmental, health, and safety programs.
He was a graduate of Weequahic High School, Newark, and earned a B.A. degree in biological sciences at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, and an M.B.A. in marketing at Seton Hall University, South Orange.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara; two sons, Brian (Jennifer) and Scott (Betsy); and three grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 12 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society for pancreatic cancer research.
