David Frischman
David Jay Frischman, 91, of Verona and Boynton Beach, Fla., died June 13, 2018. He was born in Yonkers, N.Y., and raised his family in Springfield.
A certified public accountant, for over 50 years Mr. Frischman was the CFO of Murray Construction Co., Inc. in Millburn.
He graduated from New York University.
He was a veteran in World War II, enlisting in the Coast Guard when he was barely 17 years old.
As an officer of Temple Sha’arey Shalom in Springfield, he was active in fund raising for the synagogue. He founded the Springfield 10K race, which had over 800 runners in its inaugural year. He was also an active fund raiser for United Jewish Appeal, and served on the boards of Maplewood Country Club and Hunters Run in Boynton Beach.
Predeceased recently by his son, Robert, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan; two daughters, Nancy Frischman Marsillo of Warren and Betsy (Peter) Fischer of Cherry Hill; and eight grandchildren.
