David Rivkin
David Rivkin, 92, of Rumson died Aug. 30, 2018. He was born and raised in Hartford, Conn.
Mr. Rivkin worked in military and consumer electronics industries for over 30 years, ultimately retiring as president of Numark Electronics. Later he began a second career purchasing and developing mobile home parks in New Jersey and was an active member of the New Jersey Manufactured Housing Association, serving on its board for many years as well as a two-year term as president.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Trinity College and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
An avid outdoorsman, he was a swimmer and yachtsman. He supported the NAACP, Southern Poverty Law Center, AIPAC, American Jewish Committee, Jewish Federation of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and his synagogue, Monmouth Reform Temple in Tinton Falls. He served as a vice president of the Ocean County federation and as a board member of the AJC Millburn chapter.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judith Ganz Rivkin; two sons, Edward (Stacey) and Kenneth (Deborah); his daughter, Deborah (Steven) Rovner; and six grandchildren.
