Doris (“Dorrie”) Goldman (Kasofsky), 97, of Verona died Oct. 28, 2019. She grew up in Irvington and also had lived in Newark, Maplewood, and Livingston.
One of a handful of women to graduate from Rutgers College of Pharmacy in 1942, where she met her husband, Sidney, Mrs. Goldman worked side by side with him in their drug store, Orange Drugs. After the store was sold, she helped him build PIC Corporation, an insecticide company.
Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lois (Frank) Dyer and Phyllis (Allen) Rubel; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 30 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
