Edith Salit
Edith Salit (Bolotin), 93, of Highland Park died Aug. 4, 2013. Born in the Bronx, she had also lived in Bayonne, New Brunswick, and Milltown, moving to Highland Park 24 years ago.
Mrs. Salit worked in the children’s department at J.J. Newberry’s in New Brunswick.
She graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1937.
She was recording secretary for many years of the sisterhood of Congregation Poile Zedek, New Brunswick, and was a life member. She was a regular supporter and sponsor of the Simcha Kiddush at Congregation Ahavas Achim, Highland Park.
Predeceased by her husband Irving, she is survived by two sons, Barry (Carole) of Langhorne, Pa., and Steven (Ann) of Highland Park; a brother, Seymour of East Windsor; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 5 at Congregation Ahavas Achim with arrangements by Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Ahavas Achim, Congregation Poile Zedek, or Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva, Edison.
