Edith Zamost
Edith Zamost (Rosen) died Sept. 13, 2018, at Greenwood House in Ewing. Born and raised in the Bronx, she had lived in Highland Park and later Monroe Township.
As a girl and young woman, Mrs. Zamost was a concert pianist and opera singer in New York City, performing in such venues as Carnegie and Town Halls, and on NBC radio. She served as a piano teacher for the remainder of her career.
She was a lifelong member of Hadassah, rising to the rank of national board member, national vice president, and chair of Hadassah Magazine. She also served as a delegate to the World Zionist Congress.
Predeceased by her husband, Benjamin, and a daughter, Judith Zamost Grossman, in 2014, she is survived by her daughter, Marian Zamost Stern; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 16 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah or Jewish Family Service of MetroWest.
