Eric Klipper valedictorian
ERIC “YITZY” KLIPPER of Elizabeth is valedictorian of the class of 2019 at Touro’s Lander College for Men in New York.
Klipper, the son of Aliza and David Klipper, and a graduate of the Jewish Educational Center in Elizabeth, has been fixed on a career in health care since childhood. In the fall, he will begin studies at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark.
After high school, he spent two years at Yeshivat Sha’alvim in Israel before beginning at Lander, where, in addition to his studies, he worked as a lab assistant, joined the medical ethics society, and cofounded Lander’s pre-dental club, which brought dental students and dentists to speak on campus.
Klipper, said Lander dean Dr. Moshe Sokol, “is smart, extremely capable, diligent, and with a wonderfully engaging personality. He is deeply committed to academic excellence and to the ideals of Torah study.”
Klipper is graduating with a 4.0 GPA and was on the Dean’s List every semester. “I got to where I want to be — a dental student who is firm in his faith,” he said.
