The “Matters of the Heart” column by Andrew Silow-Carroll in the March 27 issue touches profoundly on the contemporary dilemma between science and mysticism, science/reality and the angels, the left brain/right brain divide. Frankly, I am not versed in Jewish theology but this theme is eloquently explored in a larger cosmic sense in a recent book, The Coming Interspiritual Age by Kurt
Johnson and David Ord.
This volume is enthusiastically welcomed by various theologians including Rabbi Rami Shapiro, author of Rami Shapiro’s Guide to God. This intriguing dilemma remains a challenge not only for thoughtful Jews but all of human kind as well.
