Gaelen art show winners announced
AT THE COUNTER, a painting by pastel artist Jeri Greenberg of Mountainside, garnered Best in Show at the 18th annual Gaelen Juried Art Show & Sale. On display at the Gaelen Gallery West on the Aidekman campus in Whippany, the highly selective show this year features 82 works of art by 54 artists from the area.
Winners were announced at the opening reception on May 21, which included a tribute to Norbert Gaelen, who passed away in August. The annual event was founded by Audrey and Norbert Gaelen to offer a venue for local artists.
The awards were presented in photography, drawing, painting, mixed media, and sculpture.
Judges were Lora Urbanelli, Matt Gosser, and Elaine Brodie.
Lisa Suss is show coordinator; members of the Gaelen committee are Audrey Gaelen, Gary Denburg, Bernard Morcheles, Lois Dyer, Julie Levine, and Oscar Peterson. Most of the artworks are for sale.
