Gerald Selke
Gerald Charles Selke of Randolph died Nov. 19, 2011. He grew up in Brooklyn.
As a diplomat of the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Selke taught dental students at Morristown Medical Center and headed its endodontics department.
He attended Union College and graduated with honors from New York University School of Dentistry. Following his service as captain and dentist of the U.S. Air Force, he completed his post-doctoral degree in endodontics at Boston University.
He was a longtime member of the Mount Freedom Jewish Center, the Tri-County Dental Society, and the National Endodontics Society. He was a Free Mason and past president of the JCC MetroWest.
His passion for photography led him to earn an associate’s degree in photojournalism.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; three daughters, Kara, Jodi, and Melissa; his son, Gregg; two sisters, Marilyn and Marjorie; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 21 with arrangements by Dangler Funeral Home, Morris Plains. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Freedom Jewish Center.
