Harold Chasen
Harold Chasen, 100, of Richmond, Va., died Aug. 23, 2018. Born in Richmond, he was a resident of Millburn from 1959 to 1997.
Mr. Chasen had briefly started a newspaper service and then a dry cleaning business in Irvington. He then created Harmony House Record Stores located throughout New Jersey. After retiring from the retail business, he and his wife built an Amway distributorship.
He was a graduate of John Marshall High School.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He was a Mason and a District Governor of Rotary International. He did volunteer work with SCORE, part of the U.S. Small Business Administration, for many years.
Predeceased by his wife of over 69 years, Beatrice, he is survived by three sons, Steven (Frances) of Santa Monica, Calif., Donald (Vicki) of San Diego and Estes Park, Colo., and Andrew (Marc Cates) of Richmond and Sarasota, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 27 at Richmond Beth-El Cemetery at Forest Lawn. Memorial contributions may be made to Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Facility or Rotary International.
