Herbert Weber
Herbert Weber, 94, of Union died Aug. 20, 2014. Born in Newark, he also had lived in Livingston and Roseland.
A certified public accountant, Mr. Weber was a founding partner of the firm of Kurtz, Coleman & Weber.
He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where he had played basketball, was a member of the AEPi fraternity, and was an active supporter of many of the school’s activities.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was instrumental in breaking the Enigma (the Nazi Code) while stationed in London.
Predeceased by his wife Leslie, he is survived by his wife, Irene; two daughters, Dale Weber (Frank McDonough) and Marsha Weber; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 22 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
