Holocaust survivor to speak in Edison
Paul Beller, a 93-year-old Holocaust survivor who lives in Monroe Township, will speak to the Metro-Jersey section of the National Council of Jewish Women on September 29, at 1:30 p.m., at the JCC in Edison.
When it was evident that Jews were being persecuted in Europe in the 1930s, several U.S. agencies and private individuals brought Jewish children to foster homes in the United States. Paul Beller was one of 50 children who had been living in Vienna who were rescued by Gilbert and Eleanor Kraus of Philadelphia.
This program is open to the community, and refreshments will be served. Donations are accepted. RSVP to ncjwmetrojersey@gmail.com.
