Howard Gottlieb, 77, of Livingston died Feb. 8, 2020. He was born in Newark.
Mr. Gottlieb spent most of his career in civil service, earlier at the Housing Authority, and later served as the business manager for the New Jersey Department of Corrections at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women.
He graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark and Rutgers University in Newark, and earned a master’s degree in public administration from New York University.
An avid poker player, he was one of the founding members of Livingston Pickleball.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Suzanne; his daughter, Melissa; his mother, Thelma; and two sisters, Helen Neadel and Judith Gottlieb.
Services were held Feb. 11 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
