Irene Lieberberg
Irene Lieberberg, 96, of Westfield died Aug. 6, 2018. She was a Holocaust survivor who resided in Westfield for 53 years.
As an interpreter at a displaced person’s camp, Mrs. Lieberberg met her husband, Col. George Lieberberg, a U.S. Army officer, and they were married in Vienna in March 1946.
Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by two sons, Fred (Jacqueline) of Short Hills and Robert (Penny) of New York City, and four grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 8 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
