Irving Charnes
Irving Charnes, 94, of Verona died June 12, 2014. Born in Bayonne, he had lived in Newark and Verona since 1960. Mr. Charnes was a schoolteacher working in the Newark, Maplewood, and Wayne public school systems. He retired in 1981.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University in psychology in 1949.
Predeceased by his wife, Leah, he is survived by his daughter, Cara (Brian) Bannon of Verona; a sister, Myrtle Levy of Bayonne; a brother, Alan of Denver; and two grandchildren.
Services were held June 15 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
