Irving S. Kurtz

Irving S. Kurtz, 92, a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, died Dec. 13, 2011.

Mr. Kurtz owned several businesses in Philadelphia and then managed several stores for Camera Chip Inc., including the stores at Oxford Valley, King of Prussia, and Quakerbridge malls.

He graduated from Drexel University, Philadelphia.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was an active volunteer for Friends of Pennypack Park and could be found helping out at their recycling center on select Saturdays.

Predeceased by his son, Larry, he is survived by his wife of 69 years, Beatrice Frankel Kurtz; his son, Robert; his daughter, Janice Berger; a sister, Mildred Pichney; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 16 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood House, 53 Walter St., Ewing, NJ 08628.
