Jack Katz, 95, of Monroe Township died Sunday, April 27, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, he resided in Perth Amboy and Keasbey for most of his life before moving to Monroe in 1998.
Prior to his retirement in 1980 from Mayfair Foodtown Supermarkets in Elizabeth, Mr. Katz had been a produce manager in the Highland Park and New Brunswick Foodfair stores for over 25 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Asia Pacific Theatre.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Madeline Agert Katz; his son, Donald (Sue Tisiker) of East Brunswick; his daughter, Audrey Katz of Delray Beach, Fla.
Services were held April 30 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts of America, 705 Ginesi Drive, Morganville, NJ 07751.
