Jack Widowsky

Jack Widosky, 95, of Franklin Township died March 22, 2018. Born and raised in Newark, he resided in Hillside and Union before moving to Franklin Township one year ago.

Prior to retiring in 2013, Mr. Widowsky was a salesman for candy and toy distributors for 70 years.

He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran (1942-46) and served as a navigator on the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bomb missions.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Florence (Wendroff); two daughters, Sherryl (Michael) Kaufman of East Brunswick and Arlene Goldhammer of Newtown, Pa.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 25 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Historic Wendover Airfield, 1940 East 10980 South, Sandy, UT 84082; attn: James S. Petersen.
