Jan Treilman

Jan Treilman, 76, of Monroe Township died May 8, 2019. Born in Estonia in 1942, his family left for Sweden during World War II and lived with extended family before coming to the United States in 1953. He was a longtime resident of Pennington.

After starting as a computer programmer, working for various companies, including IBM, CBS, Taft Consulting, and GTE, Mr. Treilman ended his working career in systems analysis for Merrill Lynch and Bank of America, where he was employed for 25 years.

He graduated from high School in New York City in 1960 and attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity. He later attended Stanford University.

He was active within the soccer community, as a referee and later on as a member of the Hopewell Valley Soccer Association, where he oversaw the annual Memorial Day weekend soccer tournament for over 10 years.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Mayer Treilman; two sons, Erik (Randi) and Mark (Lisa); and three granddaughters.

Services were held May 16 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to The Society for the Preservation of Greek Housing, which will support the Beta chapter of Chi Phi; make checks payable to SPGH and send to Tom Holtey, 10 Crehore Drive, Newton, MA 02462.
