Jerome Estrin
Jerome “Jerry” Estrin, 87, of Monroe Township died Aug. 26, 2011. Born in Newark, he resided in Linden before moving to Monroe 16 years ago.
Prior to retiring in 1997, Mr. Estrin was a project manager for Gordon Construction, Linden, where he worked for many years. He also worked in the family business of Hudson Fur Dyers, Newark, for many years.
He was a 1941 graduate of Arts High School, Newark.
He was a World War II Air Force veteran and belonged to the Jewish War Veterans Post #609, Concordia.
He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias and B’nai B’rith.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Krieger Estrin; two sons, Rick of Monroe and Bruce of San Francisco; his daughter, Jody Grant of Monroe; a sister, Dorris Housman of Edgartown, Mass.; five grandchildren; and one great- grandchild.
Services were held Aug. 29 with arrangements by at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, PO Box 2026, Edison, NJ 08818; or the Martin & Edith Stein Hospice, Somerset.
