JFS MetroWest offers support groups

The Jewish Family Service of MetroWest is offering a variety of support groups this fall. The groups provide an opportunity for people with similar personal experiences to express their feelings and share coping strategies with professional guidance. JFS offers group counseling and support groups in the JFS offices and in community venues, including local synagogues and schools.

Groups are led by an experienced, empathetic, licensed professional therapist and can be effective both along with other counseling services or without such services.

This year, the offerings include a five- to six-week support group for teens, 15 to 18 years old, whose parents are separating or divorcing. Learn more at www.jfsmetrowest.org/teengroup23.

There also is a free group for parents and caregivers of adult children with disabilities, where they can connect with each other to discuss advocacy strategies and resources. Group sessions will be held on Mondays beginning September 18. For information email Kristin at kdunne@jfsmetrowest.org or call (973) 637-1749.

The six-week group begins November 1 and will be virtual. Most major insurances accepted. For information email Kristin at kdunne@jfsmetrowest.org.
