JFSCNJ offers virtual course on abusive relationships
The Jewish Family Service of Central New Jersey will begin “Empowering Yourself Against Abusive Relationships,” a four-session virtual support group led by Monique Carpenter and Marta Otero. It starts on November 6, at 5:30 p.m., and continues November 13, 20, and December 4. The group aims to help participants improve their self-esteem as they explore ways to identify and distance themselves from abusive relationships.
Marta Otero, LSW has been with JFSCNJ since March 2023. She has worked with children and families who have experienced domestic violence, abuse, and abusive relationships. Her previous experience involved providing psychotherapy services as a domestic violence advocate in the court system, and she now provides psychotherapy services for children and families at JFSCNJ.
