Julia Ripps

Julia Gabai Ripps, 85, of West Caldwell died Jan. 19, 2014. Born in Havana, Cuba, she was a longtime resident of West Caldwell.

Mrs. Ripps was the former president and owner of Metropolitan Industries/Gabai Incorporated.

She was the first woman president of Congregation Agudath Israel, Caldwell.

Predeceased by her husband, Norman, she is survived by three daughters, Linda (Avram Kogen), Amy, and Vanessa (Daniel Shostak); her son, Daniel (Daria Pennington); and five grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 20 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton.
