Leo Feld
Leo Feld, 96, of Clifton died March 2, 2012. Born in 1915 in New York City, he moved to Clifton 63 years ago.
Dr. Feld was a pediatrician in private practice in Clifton for more than 40 years, and served on the staff of the former Passaic General Hospital until his retirement.
He attended City College in New York and the University of Glasgow, School of Medicine, Scotland.
He served as an Army physician with the 544th Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment in the Pacific, achieving the rank of Major until being honorably discharged at the end of World War II. Upon returning to the United States, completing his residency and becoming board certified in pediatrics, he moved to Clifton, where he opened his practice in pediatric and adolescent medicine. He held professional memberships in the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Medical Society of New Jersey.
Predeceased by his wife, Rosalyn, he is survived by three daughters, Joan Feld of New York City, Ellen Feld Gibbs of Wellesley, Mass., and Nancy Feld of Newtown, Pa.; a brother and sister; and two grandchildren.
Services were held March 6 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clifton Jewish Center, 18 Delaware St., Clifton, NJ 07011.
